Formal Wear
[Page 1][Page 2]

Takeuchi-san doesn't experiment here much. Just good ole classic elegance that would be appropriate in any situation requiring formal clothes.

The Senshi in suitsThis is a gorgeous collection. The word classy comes to mind. The inners are in suspenders and cummerbunds, which to me suggests that Takeuchi-san wanted to show that they are younger than the refined outers in tuxedos. The shirts are very crisp and fit around the inners nicely. The outers are, as I said, very refined-looking in their tuxedos. Personally I think Takeuchi-san should've just gone with blue bows all throughout, but the red bows give the whole picture a little variety. I also like the fact that Takeuchi-san does little unubiquitous variations here and there-Rei's different bow, the absence of Chibiusa's neckband, etc. The arrangement of the picture is nice too, with the suspender-cummerbunds grouped on the bottom and the tuxedos on top.

The Senshi, including ChibiChibi, in wedding dresses ::squeals:: Wedding dresses! I love you Takeuchi-san (platonically, of course), even though Usagi should be with Seiya!!! All of the wedding gowns in here are gorgeous and variated. Usagi's is pretty generic. The roses are cute, and it gives her that playfulness mixed with the classiness of wedding dresses. Setsuna's is elegant. It's beautiful in its simplicity. I also love the way Setsuna's hair looks, very royal, and the necklace is gorgeous also. My favorite wedding dress is Haruka's. It's so different and gorgeous! Haruka looks very royal--princess-y--in the bodice that looks like it's taken right out of a fairy tale - i.e. the puffed sleeves, the bodice all covered, and the buttons. It's a nice contrast to the other gowns. The crown just adds to the look. I'm not that happy about not being able to see Michiru's. IMO the rose on her head is a little big. It should be about 10% smaller. I love the crimped top on Minako's. It's different, creative, and fit for the occasion. I don't know what is it with Minako and hats, but the hat fits with her dress and her personality. Minako is very fun-loving, after all. Rei's is pretty simple. The red rose stands out a little too much, IMHO. Pink wouldn't be so loud, IMO. I love her necklace. Pretty pretty red beads. I like the puffy sleeves on Ami. She looks good with it. Makoto's is pretty much the same as Chibiusa's, only with spaghetti straps. Pretty and simple. For some reason I like her veil. Now onto the kids. Yep, thought I forgot them didn't you ^_^? Chibiusa looks sporty and kiddish. ChibiChibi's reminds me of those party dresses I used to wear. The puffed sleeves are VERY cute, and so is the full skirt. Hotaru's is a little more elegant. She has a veil and her dress is off-the-shoulder. It retains some of its kid-like quality in the fullness of the bodice and the skirt, and the lace is cute also.

Usagi, Makoto, Rei, Ami, and Tuxedo Kamen This picture doesn't have much, so I'll make it quick. Tuxedo Kamen won't be reviewed since he's in his trademark tuxedo ::smirk::. Takeuchi-san uses see-through material in this one. From what I judge of Usagi's, it probably has puffy, off-the-shoulder sleeves. I think the gathers on top might look too messy, but that's a conjecture on my part since I'm not able to see all of the dress, or at least the bodice. I like the way the see-through material is wrapped around Ami. It looks like a stole and gives Ami's dress a dream-like quality. Rei's is simple and sporty in red, but her stole helps soften things up and make it look more feminine. Makoto's collar is interesting. I like the curves and the rose on the neckline. It's very feminine and fun at the same time.

The Sensi in black dresses Oh yes, the perfect little black dresses. IMO the feathers on Usagi look very nice. Rei's is pretty classic, with a plunging neckline. Love that tattoo Rei! The armband's nice also. Ami's is cute with the tie-back halter top. Makoto's is again, classic, and sadly Hotaru is partially cut off. She's covered, that's about all I know ^^;;. Naoko was a little too overzealous with Minako. She resembles a hooker, almost. Maybe she was doubling for one of the Animamates... Chibiusa's is nice and fun. The puffy sleeves are cute, although the outfit would look equally good without them. Pluto looks very sporty indeed. Haruka's is very classy and much like Rei's. Michiru's is very elegant. The neckband is perfect, and the ultra-thin straps look nice also. She's the only one with virtually no straps on her dress. Elegant and sexy.
