Formal Wear

The Inners, Chibiusa, and Pluto Another collection, full of joys and tears ^_^. Chibiusa's dress is another one of those party dresses that we girls are all too familiar with when we were little. I don't think the gloves should be black; that somehow just doesn't fit with the outfit, even though it IS in black and white. I recommend a color like cream, or maybe white lace with black accents. No comment on Usagi's since I can't see it. Normally I'd be shocked at the cuts on Minako's, but I think it's creative and doesn't look that awful. I love her silver chunky belt and her silver jewelry. And look, Minako changed hair ribbons (it's black)! Again, I can't see much of Rei's to even determine if it's a dress or not! Thumbs up to the wrap, however. Ami's is very feminine, loose, and flowing. Yellow is not a bad color on Ami, but I recommend she stick to blue and neutrals. Those darn limitations of blue hair ^_^. I love the way Makoto looks. Very sexy in a skintight brown spaghetti-strap dress. And do I see an armband? Very very nice effect. Now Setsuna. One question: is she wearing lingerie or is her dress just cut really strangely?

The Inners and Chibiusa in Princess dresses Princess dresses! I love these sketches because they resemble what would be a real fashion sketch. Mercury's is very simple. 'Nuff said. I like the pleats in the center on Mars'. It's of a different color, but it doesn't contrast that much. I've never thought of using pleats that way before! Jupiter's is incredibly feminine and sexy with the split up the the thigh, held with roses. The added see-through layer where it splits makes it more feminine. Venus' is layered, but thankfully there aren't THAT much layers so that it gets messy. There's just one or two. If you look at the pencil sketch of the back right beside it, it shows that the straps are tied at the shoulders, giving Venus' dress a fun quality. ChibiMoon also has many layers. I love the feather-like layers on the sleeves. Sorry, but Sailor Moon isn't in this one ;_;.

The Outers in Princess dresses Ah yes, princess dresses continued. Uranus' is very classic. However, if you look to the right there you can see that Takeuchi-san has designed the sides to be connected by navy bands, giving the dress a little twist to it. Neptune's is considerably more feminine, starting with the muted sea-green color. It's a wrap-around dress, and it's very loose and relaxed. You can see where the material falls and folds. Saturn's neckline is very creative. It looks like a "W" ^_^. The color isn't the greatest, but Takeuchi-san excels with the design. The gloves look good with the gown, and they're just the right length. I like the straps on Pluto's gown, and also the neckline which looks like the demure version of Saturn's. She's also wearing the same gloves as Saturn (well, not the color).
