My Reasons
So what made me do a shrine on fashion in Sailor Moon? Well, I like to be unique. When I was working on my generic combo Sailor Moon site, I realized that it was a generic combo Sailor Moon site. I doubted if I could ever make anything as good as some of the combo sites out there. So I trashed that idea and began focusing on shrines.
I have always loved fashion design. Personally I'm a jeans and t-shirt person who thinks clothing stores are traumatizing (but I love shoes!). Designing, however, has always been a way for me to express myself through another form of art. My Sailor Moon-ism has already led me to design for the senshi, so I thought, why not a site on fashion? I watch the oscars every year to critique the stars' clothes, and I thought that I could do it here. Takeuchi-san is wonderful in the way that she not only illustrates the characters in their senshi forms, but also in civilian forms with clothes to spare.
Clothes have always been a way for us to express ourselves. I rarely dress like Britney Spears, because, that's not my style. People are going to dress the way that they want (in the U.S., anyway ^^;;), and they are going to judge other people on their clothes. Yes, it's shallow and superficial, but some hidden part of all of us is like that. I don't believe that clothes make up who a person is, but it's a start.
